Shield of the Children began operations in 2018

Shield conducted training sessions in an Asian country to educate local law enforcement officers on how to investigate and prosecute cases of child sex trafficking.

The training aimed to equip the officers with the necessary skills and knowledge to identify and combat human trafficking.

Shield’s efforts to combat human trafficking are not limited to training sessions. I have also been collaborating with both domestic and international non-governmental organizations to address the issue.

Shield of the Children began operations in 2018

Utilizing a three-pronged approach to anti-trafficking, focusing on prevention, intervention, and restoration. By building a network of collaborative partnerships, Shield provides investigative expertise to other anti-trafficking organizations.

Our highly vetted and trained operatives deploy to countries in Southeast Asia to conduct investigations alongside our
partners. These cases are then referred to the local authorities who complete the raid and arrests.

All survivors are sent to the approved aftercare facilities run by partner organizations. In addition to investigations, Shield improves the overall standard of the anti-trafficking field by providing training to partner organizations and law enforcement agencies.

Meanwhile, our prevention officers provide trafficking and abuse education to at-risk communities in rural Southeast Asia and facilitate survivors to bring their perpetrators to justice.

Shield is now officially expanded into Bali and are working closely with law enforcement. Shield recognizes that human trafficking is a complex problem that requires a multi-faceted approach.

By working with other organizations and sharing resources, we hope to make a meaningful impact in the fight against human trafficking.

    INTERVENTION

    WHY FOCUS ON ARRESTS?

When a survivor is taken out of a trafficking situation without their perpetrator being arrested, this leaves a gap for a new victim to fill.

Rescue without arrests leads to an increase in unique trafficking victims. This is why Shield exclusively works on cases where arrests are the primary goal.

Our operations are conducted both domestically and internationally in cooperation with our intervention partners.

    PREVENTION

Our team of prevention officers works alongside a partner organization in rural communities to educate at-risk
communities about the dangers of human trafficking.

Our prevention officers also taught about sexual abuse, the dangers of pornography, and substance abuse.

This program is led by locals who understand the cultural difficulties in discussing these taboo topics. Many of these communities are facing Poverty and vulnerable employment.

The children in the areas that have been visited are particularly unaware of what constitutes sexual abuse, so even if the children have experienced it, they may not recognize it.

We believe that we must provide an explanation in a very simple language or use the local dialect to educate the children in remote areas.
